Irish Canoe Classics: Thirty-Four Great Canoe & Kayak Trips. Eddie Palmer and Tony Monaghan

An illustrated guide to some of the finest tours of Ireland’s waterways. Wild loughs, placid canals and broad rivers, as they can only be seen from a canoe or kayak…Eddie and Tony have chosen the best inland touring routes. They are described in great detail and illustrated with numerous colour photos and maps. The selected routes are suitable for open canoes, sit-on-tops and touring kayaks. Many of them can be tackled as a single voyage or a series of day trips, with campsites en route. The journeys are all accessible but highly varied, taking place on inland loughs, sheltered coastland and rivers. The team consisted of world-renowned kayaker Steve Fisher, New Zealands Ben Brown, local Zambian and expedition leader James Hitchens, photographer Des Pickers and myself Dan Campbell. My mother aggrivates me to no end. How do I deal with this?

Question by moose: My mother aggrivates me to no end. How do I deal with this?

I’ll give some examples, first.

There’s this camping trip I’m invited to on Friday. I remind her about it the Sunday before that week. She is concerned about when it ends, I tell her on Sunday and I’m not sure what time. She’s concerned about who is going, I tell her the (lastnames) and the (lastnames.) She wants to know what I will do, I say, Kayak and hike and hang out. On Monday I say “can I do some laundry for the camping trip?” and she is clueless as to what trip I am talking about. I start to explain that it is with the (lastnames) and the (lastnames) at the lake, and again she asks what time it ends, what I will do, when it ends, and why I am going. Then, we get it all sorted out…alas, on Tuesday, it begins again. This CONTINUED until Thursday night, very late Thursday night, and she was extremely unhappy with me for ‘WAITING TIL THE LAST MINUTE TO NOTIFY HER OF MY PLANS.”

More examples to come in the details. First consult on this question???
